Description:
The studio, home, gallery-café and chapel of the wood sculptress Eva Ryynänen are situated at Paateri, in the village of Vuonisjärvi, ca. 30 km from the the town centre of Lieksa towards Joensuu. Eva Ryynänen (1915-2001) created ca. 500 fascinating sculptures during her career. Her biggest single project, the unique Paateri chapel, was completed in the summer of 1991. Two years later another interesting building - the gallery-cafë - was built in the area. Paateri has become one of the most popular tourist attractions in Lieksa.

Midsummer Eve 10am-4pm.

Advance booking required for groups. Extra charge on guidance outside the opening times.
